About me

My name is Nicola, I’m 27 and I live in Richmond with my boyfriend Gavin.

Things that make me happy are (in no particular order): crochet, bees, writing, Dusty Springfield, old things, gin, shortbread, tapirs, and managing to keep a houseplant alive.

I also enjoy ranting and puns. Sometimes at the same time.

I started this blog as a place to spout off about the tube, waffle on about crochet or wax lyrical about Kew Gardens for when I can’t find a human being to listen. If you find this and you’re one of my real life friends, please don’t laugh at me for occasionally being pretentious! 🙂

  1. We share a lot of similar tastes; all those things would go on my list, except gin (I like it, but there are addiction issues in my family) and tapirs – not that I don’t like them, but I’d find it hard to select one animal over another, though I love orangutans, gibbons and elephants… and tigers, wolves, crows, badgers…
    Coffee or tea?

      1. We could start a Society for the popularisation of tapirs. First we have to raise funds for a plush office suite with a top-of-the range coffee machine. No-one will pay any attention to us if we don’t have a posh coffee machine – and chocolates. We need top quality hand made chocolates, or they won’t take us seriously 🙂

  2. Hi, you visited (and liked) a couple of posts on my blog recently. Thanks for that. Can’t say I favour Tapirs over any other sort of animal, and we don’t get them down in Cornwall much, but if you liked it down here then you must be OK. 😉
